AN OHIO SOYBEAN COUNCIL PROGRAM

There is new funding available to help pay for your first road project.

BIORESTOR is a soy-based asphalt rejuvenator that helps Ohio counties and municipalities get more years out of the pavement they already have. Right now there is funding to try it on your own roads, with 40% of your first project covered by the Ohio Soybean Council.

BIORESTOR, in partnership with the Ohio Soybean Council, funded by Ohio's soybean farmers through the soybean checkoff.

FIRST-TIME USER COST-SHARE · LIMITED FUNDS

The Council covers 40% of your first project.

Ohio counties and municipalities trying BIORESTOR for the first time can have 40% of the project covered by the Ohio Soybean Council, up to $6,000, applied as a credit right on the bill. You pay the other 60%, with soybean farmers helping cover the rest.

PROTECT THE ROADS YOU ALREADY PAID FOR

Take good care of good pavement.

BIORESTOR is a soy-based treatment applied to asphalt to preserve and protect it. It adds natural oils back into the surface, slows the aging process, and keeps the pavement flexible so it holds up longer, without the loose stone of a chip seal. It is the step between doing nothing and paying for a full resurface or replacement.

As one road engineer put it, "It is cheaper and easier to take care of a good road than to save a bad one." BIORESTOR has been field-tested since 2004 and is certified under the USDA BioPreferred Program at 95% biobased content.

THE PROOF ON REAL ROADS

Results that stretch a road budget, right here in Ohio.

Up to 40% longer life

In Darke County, Ohio, a soy-based asphalt rejuvenator extended serviceable pavement life by up to 40%, for roughly 13% additional investment compared to untreated asphalt.

"We have applied BIORESTOR to every new pavement we have placed... our roads easily see 14 to 15 years of service life. A pave-only system is too expensive."
Roger Schultz, Franklin Township Trustee, Shelby County, Ohio
"We see the value... to help preserve our asphalt surfaces and get additional years out of them, stretching our resident and business tax dollars further."
Kyle Francis, Asst. Village Administrator, Versailles, Ohio

Results from Ohio agencies in the region. Individual results vary by road condition, traffic, and application.

Ohio Soybean Council

WHY THE OHIO SOYBEAN COUNCIL IS BEHIND IT

An Ohio crop, working on Ohio roads.

BIORESTOR is made with U.S. soy. When Ohio agencies choose it, they are putting a homegrown crop to work preserving local infrastructure and creating demand for soybeans grown in the field right next door, which is exactly why the Ohio Soybean Council supports this program.

You would be working with a small, hands-on Ohio team that has been doing this for years, not a national conglomerate. Here is a quick look at who is behind BIORESTOR.

A look at the team behind BIORESTOR.

HOW IT WORKS

Three simple steps.

1

Reach out to BIORESTOR

Tell the BIORESTOR team about your roads. We help you scan your pavement and pick a good candidate road for a first-time pilot project.

2

Scope your project

Together we look at your roads and put together a simple proposal that fits your budget. It shows your 60% and the Council's 40% credit, and both you and the Council sign off before any work begins.

3

Pay just your 60%

We complete the treatment with your team. You pay your 60% and the Ohio Soybean Council covers the other 40%, up to $6,000, as a credit built right into your bill, with no waiting on a reimbursement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions from Ohio agencies.

How much does my agency get back?

The Ohio Soybean Council covers 40% of your first BIORESTOR project, up to $6,000, applied as a credit on your bill. You pay the other 60%. Using the full $6,000 works out to roughly a $15,000 project.

Is it a reimbursement or a credit?

It is a cost-share credit, not a reimbursement. The Council's 40% is built right into your bill, so you pay only your 60% and never wait to be paid back.

Which agencies are eligible?

Ohio counties and municipalities that are first-time users of a soy-based road sealant. Funds are first come, first served.

How do I apply?

There is no separate application. Start with the form below and the BIORESTOR team scopes your project, prepares the proposal, and coordinates the Council's cost-share. We are your point of contact throughout.

Is there anything required after the project?

Up front, you and the Council both sign a simple proposal that locks in your 60% and the Council's 40% credit and confirms you are a first-time user. After the project, the BIORESTOR team handles the invoices and paperwork with the Council.
